Barristers' Chambers Fitout, Sydney

2018

As often happens in barrister's Chambers, the barrister I work for moved to new Chambers (rooms) on the existing Chambers' floor.  The new Chambers had limited shelving to store the extensive volumes of legal books and texts the barrister owns.

With two long glazed walls located the length and height of these room, there were limited opportunities where shelving could be applied. In addition to this, there was an existing partition wall containing storage which needed to be retained.

The brief was to create additional storage, workbench, workstation and office desk incorporating cupboards, shelving storage and new bookcases.

The choice of finishes was limited as there was a requirement to keep the finish of the new joinery consistent with other Chambers on the floor, therefore a cherry veneer was selected.

Flooring was retained as was existing partition wall and other storage.
